Le biblioteche in tutto il mondo stanno abbracciando le tecnologie digitali per offrire servizi nuovi e tradizionali e per migliorare l'esperienza che i loro utenti possono vivere in biblioteca.

L'intervento si propone di fornire una rassegna delle tendenze e delle sfide attuali in grado di offrire una comprensione dei modi in cui i bibliotecari e i lavoratori delle biblioteche stanno collaborando con i clienti per creare un futuro affascinante.
 

 
Biography

Sari Feldman is Executive Director of Cuyahoga County Public Library (CCPL), a position she has held since 2003. Under her leadership, CCPL has become one of the nation's best and busiest public library systems, earning the Library Journal 5-Star recognition for six consecutive years (2009-2014).
Sari received a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from State University of New York at Binghamton and a Master's in Library Science degree from the University of Wisconsin, Madison. She previously served as an adjunct faculty member at the School of Information Studies at Syracuse University, teaching graduate courses in library management, reference services, policy, and grant writing for more than 20 years. She was honored in 1995 with the Vice President's Award for Teacher of the Year.
Sari is currently president of the American Library Association, a position she will hold through June 2016. In her role as president, Sari has initiated a national public awareness campaign called Libraries Transform that is designed to increase awareness of and support for libraries of all types. She is a past president of the Public Library Association (2009-2010).
In 2013, Sari was honored with the Public Library Association's Charlie Robinson Award for innovation in library service. She was named a Woman of Note by Crain's Cleveland Business in 2011 and received the 2008 Jane Donelson Player of the Year Award from the USA Toy Library Association, the 2005 YWCA Woman of Achievement award, the David C. Sweet Leadership Academy Alumni Community Leadership Award, and the Leadership Academy's 2002 Community Impact Award. Sari is a member of the Leadership Cleveland Class of 2004.
She is currently a board member of OneCommunity, a community broadband initiative, as well as In Counsel with Women, a local network of female executives. Her past civic involvement includes:
  • - President of Cuyahoga Arts & Culture;
  • - Appointed member of City-County Workforce Development Board;
  • - Board Member of the Literacy Coalition;
  • - Advisory Task Force of the PlayhouseSquare Education Department; and,
  • - Cuyahoga Valley Organizational Design Collaborative member.
Sari is a member of the American Library Association, Beta Phi Mu, the Ohio Library Council, and the Public Library Association. She regularly presents on libraries both nationally and internationally and has written widely for professional publications.
